Data Security
MuniBridge stores your primary billing data locally on your own machine, allowing the software to function offline except when using certain integrations, such as QuickBooks Online or other connected services.
Because MuniBridge is not hosted as a cloud-based billing platform, your system’s core data is not stored on MuniBridge servers. This reduces exposure to third-party cloud data breaches and keeps your data under your organization’s local control.
As with any local software, proper computer security, backups, Windows user permissions, and network safeguards are still important.
Meter Reading Compatibility
MuniBridge is designed to support a variety of meter reading file types and integrations. If your current file format or integration is not already supported, compatibility can be added at no extra charge as part of setup.
QuickBooks / Accounting
Some billing systems include their own built-in accounting module. MuniBridge takes a different approach by pairing utility billing with QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online.
MuniBridge handles the utility billing side, including meter readings, usage history, billing calculations, customer records, and bill generation. QuickBooks handles the accounting side, including payments, balances, deposits, reports, financial records, and accountant-ready reporting.
This allows your system to use dedicated utility billing software alongside one of the most recognized accounting platforms available. Instead of relying on a smaller built-in accounting module, MuniBridge connects your billing process to software that many accountants, bookkeepers, and auditors already know and trust.
Bill Formatting
Bills can be formatted in many different layouts, including 4-up postcards, 3-up legal, 8.5×11 full-page bills, email billing formats, and more.
Bill layouts can be customized to match the needs of your system.
Pricing / Contract Lock
Discounted pricing is available for early partners switching to MuniBridge while it is still an emerging solution.
Partners are not required to immediately lock themselves into a long-term contract. However, pricing can be secured at any time through a written agreement. This allows your system to use the software, make sure it is a good fit, and then lock in pricing afterward if desired.
Setup & Data Migration
Each migration process varies depending on your current software and how accessible your existing data is.
Important details such as account numbers, names, service addresses, mailing addresses, balances, rates, and meter numbers are all transferred over. Depending on the structure and accessibility of your current system, smaller historical details such as account notes, move-in dates, past meter history, or certain custom fields may not always transfer completely.
Setup time varies by system, but most smaller systems should expect the process to take approximately one week once the necessary data is provided.
Setup Review
After setup is complete, a sample billing run should be reviewed in MuniBridge to verify that bills, rates, balances, and customer information appear correct under normal billing conditions.
When possible, it is recommended to run MuniBridge alongside the existing software for one billing cycle. This allows both outputs to be compared, verifying proper setup & migration.
Training
MuniBridge is designed to be user-friendly and intuitive, but remote training sessions are included for the first three billing runs.
These sessions help ensure the billing process runs smoothly after setup and migration. They also give MuniBridge Solutions an opportunity to collect feedback and make improvements where needed.
Support
Annual support is based on the number of meters in the system. Each year includes 6 hours of support, plus 1 additional hour per 100 meters.
Additional support beyond the included amount is billed at $50.00 per hour.
Support required due to a confirmed MuniBridge software error does not count toward the included annual support hours.
